Riding Hudson

The Hudson Bay, that is! John-Henry and Daddy took the free Staten Island Ferry across New York Harbor just for the hell of it. They took in majestic views of the Statue of Liberty, Governor's Island and some big kids texting and hitting each other with water bottles.

It's a gas gas gas

You know what's fun? Jumping. Jumping is pretty much the original barrel of monkeys nothing is more fun than.

Cereal, Anyone?

So, John-Henry started eating real food today! If you call rice cereal real food. He seemed to enjoy the miniscule amount that actually stayed in his mouth. We think he will get much better with practice.

More Firsts

This has been a summer of firsts for John-Henry. This month alone he had his first ferry ride (to Govenor's Island) and first carousel ride. He didn't seem to notice the ferry ride that much but he loved the carousel. He kicked his feet when it started going round and round. Mommy & Daddy were surprised by how fast it went - it was excellent! We saw Slaid Cleaves perform and took in The Waterfalls installation on Governor's Island.

Bastille Day!

We celebrated Bastille Day in Brooklyn by fleeing the terrible crowds at the celebration on Smith St. and having margaritas instead. The boys had fun just the same. John-Henry had so much excitement that he crashed on Uncle Jeff at the end of the afternoon.

Innagaddadasoccer

Grandma and Grandpa Brick came to Brooklyn to shower Aunt Jenni-Lynn with gifts for JT's cousin Revelie, who should be here any day. We can't wait to meet her. In the meantime, everybody went to watch the Euro soccer tournament at the Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens. Vive Espana!

Deep in the Heart of Texas

John-Henry visited Austin again a few weeks ago and had a great time swimming, hanging out with grandma and friends (like mom's friend Sarah) and attending his very first birthday party. JT's friend Gabe turned 2 on June 15 - yeah, Gabe!
